How it works
Step

You will need access to a functioning
headset and a Skype account. Skype is the most widely
used VoIP service and is free. We recommend that you
familiarize yourself with how Skype works - the service
is user-friendly and will give a chance to test your
headset. To get started with your Skype account, click
here.
You must register with Spanish Language Center. During your
registration, you will be asked to provide some basic
information. To get started with your registration, click
here. All information is confidential and not
shared with anyone.
Step 3 - Payment
Pay for the number of
hours desired. You are not fully registered until payment has been
processed.
Step 4 - Schedule a Lesson
Once registered, you will have the ability to
view the availability of lessons and choose a time you find
suitable.
Step 5 - Connect with your Teacher
What you need (software,
hardware and so on)
Even though, this is a computer-based
experience, we want to make sure anyone can use it. You
do not really need to be a "computer person"
to use our services. Here are the only two things you
need to have ready before your first Spanish lesson:
Software : We have
selected Skype as our method of communication. Skype is
an easy to use and completely free software that allows
any user to make free phone calls from computer to
computer. Skype is currently used by more than 200
million people around the world. You can download it and
learn more about it directly at skype.com.
For an optimal Skype experience your
computer most have a high speed (DSL or Cable) Internet
connection.
Headset : We strongly
recommend the use of headphones/speaker headset. It
allows you to hear clearly your Spanish tutor's
pronunciation, plus it will block all external noises
for optimal concentration. If you do not have one, you
can buy a headset at any local electronic store. If you
are new to Skype, please make sure you test your system
at least one time before your first lesson.
Materials: We will
provide them. Just bring a notebook and a pen to class
and you will be all set!
All Credit Card transactions
are processed through PayPal because it is the most secure and
common interface for payments eBay and 17 million other members
use this service.
